this is a classic indian barber shop in kl, located between central market and petaling street. i love this pic because it's a tell tale signs of the old kl of which the historical buildings are trying to survive in the midst of modern development surrounding the area. it was a rundown building until it was given a bright yellow colour coat that makes it looks "happening" and interesting.



this barber shop has been there as long as i could remember and i believe it will be there for a long time as it responds positively to the changes of the surrounding. just look at the name, the design, the decoration, the contrasty bright colours are reflection of modernisation but the overall look it dinstinctively tells clients that this is an indian barber shop and you'll get the type of service and hairstyles of any other typical indian barber shops elsewhere.



the big red signage that constitutes the shop stands out in contrast with the yellow building as background. the shop might be placed in the middle but the windows above the shop gave the balance feel of the picture.



i'm not so sure how to categorise this pic whether architectural or street scene. maybe you can suggest.

a great photos came with less words. Honestly, i feel that this photos still weak in the story yg u plan to convey lah brader. If i were u, i definately imagining and really hope that the barber with white doti and janggut keluar and sit in front of the shop waiting for the customer and leaving the rest of the places empty. Then the story can easily tell.



Composition good but i wish u can straighten the vertical grid to make this photo look smarter.



I personally feel, this photo is best in Critic Corner. Freak, what do u think?

yup SN, a barber sitting in front of the shop would be a better scene. there are a lot of barber shops in kl, and i'll look for such scene. let me do my own moderation - move it to photo critic corner.

aku lihat yg sering timbul ialah mengenai plot agak ringan tak cukup kuat untuk mencekam

yang lain2 rasanya tak de masaalah .. well ... jika ini yg ko mahu so enjoy yourself..

hamlaw, i think we should stop giving comment with apathy, at least in my own case. aku memang enjoy this pic sama ada aku letak sini ke tak, cuma aku nak tahu sama ada engko enjoy ke tak. kalo engko enjoy kenapa dan kalo engko tak enjoy kenapa. the reasons are more important and whether i accept or not the reasons, that's a different matter but it will help me to think how other people think or view an image they enjoy and not. your opinion is more important than my own feel. kalo aku pentingkan my own feel, aku tak akan letak gambar ni kat sini dan teruskan rasa syok sendiri dgn letak kat fp aku aje. ni la yang dimaksudkan koyak gambar....hehehehe.



and hamlaw, please give some detail comments and not just short or hanging statement, kay. kalo engko cakap plot tu lemah, please explain what do you mean plot tu lemah and how do you suggest to make the plot strong. i want to know and improve.

bagi aku zuhrie ang shoot vertical and org jalan kaki dimotionkkan ...dan kalau ang rajin tunggu (IF) tunggu sampai ada orang masuk atau org dok melepak depan kedai tue(maybe owner barber tersebut)

well actualy aku masih lagi enjoy dengan gambar seperti ini dengan contras color yg menarik cuma naluri aku mahukan lebih sentuhan kemanusian didalam gambar begini munkin dengan tambahan berapa character ataupun aku dah terbiasa melihat image seperti :





1. berberapa orang sedang menungu giliran untuk memotong rambut dan munkin duduk diatas kerusi panjang yg diletak dihadapan kedai membaca surat khabar atau pun bebual sesama sendiri.

2. ataupun sipemotong rambut sedang membaca surat khabar menungu pelangan duduk didatas kerusi gunting rambut yg clasic dan ade eye contact dengan camera ataupun tidak..

3. Dan kalu aku aku akan cuba tunggu golden moment kat dalam baber nih masa dia tengah cukur jambang pelangan dia ekspresi memang best uhh ..

4. Personally aku suka black and white , well yg ini please consider this is as a" optional " element kalu nak SHOOT human just go to B&W

5. well aku suggest kalu nak cari shoot camnih ko boleh cari disekitar Littel India kat Klang ataupun Port Klang ..



P:S Aku harap dapat belajar disini dengan memberi berberapa pandangan yg tidak semestinya betul dan pada masa yg sama aku sudi menerima teguran dan tunjuk ajar hasil dari pandangan aku itu . Skop comment dan mengkritik harus diluaskan lagi bukan sahaja photog kena kritik tapi sipengkritik tu pun kena sanggup kena kritik he.. he.. he.. ... well done dan selamat maju jaya Zuhrei ..

engko jangan risau pasal nak komen gambar aku. selagi engko have good strong reasons, you stand by them and give suggestions to improve, i will respect the comment. aku setuju atau tidak, itu perkara kedua. macam ni barulah berlakunya proses saling belajar dan mengajar. tks, bro.
